Our belief in re-use, repair and recycle, is demonstrated by our charitable shop in South Molton, which sells everything from buttons to antiques. We accept public donations of all resalable items and aim to provide a vast range of reasonably priced household, electrical, garden and leisure items, white goods (fridges, washing machines etc.), furniture, tools, books, clothes and bric-a-brac for the local community.

The reuse shop has its own van and will collect, for free, larger items throughout the area. The shop is not only a valuable resource for the local community in terms of being able to purchase great value household items, but also serves the purpose of being a welcoming venue especially for the older members of the community, some of whom visit several times a day. You are welcome to come and browse the treasure trove of items and pick up a bargain!

Situated outside the shop we also a have a 24 hour collection point for dry recyclables (green, clear and brown glass, newspaper & magazines, food tins and drinks cans, cardboard and plastic bottles).

Volunteers and people seeking work experience are encouraged at the shop.

In April 2008 the reuse shop was transferred to SMR Phoenix, a registered Charity. The charitable arm of SMR, though independent of the community trading company, enables us to deliver training and work experience opportunities to people who are looking to return to the workplace but are finding it difficult. We can offer, at present, sales room experience (dealing with the public and layout of stock) and delivery & collection experience on our vehicle. In the coming 18 months SMR Phoenix is looking to expand its services to training people from disadvantaged backgrounds in the basic skills of woodwork, metal work and furniture restoration along side the basic and key skills education.
